Design Ideals

Architects are specialists tasked with bringing the humanity forward. We fashion steel and concrete into forms of function and grandeur. With a good mind and strong vision in our current era there are few things we cannot achieve. We experiment with methods, tools, and materials of construction both old and of our own concoction. Our primary purpose on this earth (and some day beyond) is to create well thought out solutions, which incorporate the advanced technologies of the age, in order to expose the public to new ideas and technologies.

There are few total truths to architecture for that would guarantee perfection each time. However there are some rules of thumb that one may use to guide their decisions.

  • An emphasis on solar daylighting and incorporation of nature. This can either be for the view of nature, incorporation of natural elements and spaces as forms or even zones. We may have created structures to protect us from the outside world, however we also crave it. Nature may also be used in a more ornamental element.

  • This brings into account that ornament, the inclusion of intricate decorative detail that do not provide an immediate function, is absolutely acceptable. It can be a major eye piece that is totally acceptable, especially if it is used as a way to express identity and deliniate space. In many ways, overall architectural form is now the new ornament, even if their creators claim it not this way.

  • The most valid argument for the incorporation of ornamental detail can simply be in order to create an aesthetic appeal. The look of a structure can greatly impact the opinions of those who reside within it.

  • A designer must incorporate new technologies especially in the interest of sustainability. The reduction of energy and resource consumption is vital to the health, safety, and longevity of humanity as a whole. It is within our best interest to suggest a client seek sustainable solutions in order to ensure that future generations may also have the ability to partake in the same pleasures and progress we enjoy in this era.

Think forward, for those who do will be remembered in the centuries to come.

As Architects, we strive for grand solutions to complex problems. We aim high with our hearts and our minds. We bring the world the new and set the standards of innovation. It is our mission in this GRAND ERA to utilize the culmination of past knowledge and the ingenuity of this era to forge a new tomorrow. Our era is unrivaled by that of any previous, in its level of access to knowledge of our past. We are the most educated generations in all of human history, thus our potential is at its peak. We mustn’t squander our chances to advance as society. We must do our best with what we can so that those that come behind us can do the same, again and again. We must go forth and REIGN IN THE FUTURE!

THE MAN HIMSELF

vanity (1).jpg

Jacob Mavity is a Bachelor of Architecture from Ball State University. He enjoys a fair amount of media both foreign and domestic. The wonders he had seen through many video games as well as movies gave him a drive to create and a passion for innovative solutions.

His time in the Boy Scouts of America, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, taught him many of the skills
necessary to succeed as well as gave him a sense of citizenship and pride. Each of these combined help forge a spirit of international awareness as well as a sense of adventure.

Mavity is well traveled along the eastern half of the United States from Central Missouri to Washington D.C., from Niagara Canada to Orlando Florida, and the many more places in between.

Some r
elevant examples of his travels are the impressive works of Frank Lloyd Wright be it Taliesin, Falling Water, or The Robie House, which he gave tours of, in Chicago.

For some these are trivial tasks, to others more than they have had the pleasure of
experiencing. Either way for this man it is only the beginning.
